There is a philosophy in the Christian church, not really new, that is actually a misconception. Some churches persuade their members to worry only about their spiritual life. It is a concept that is dangerous and deprives the person the chance to live his or her life to the fullest or make an impact on society. God created everything with a purpose. An angel is a messenger of God with a spiritual form who their only objective is to do God’s will. But, we are not Angels. We are humans. God has placed us, humans, on earth for one thing: to live.
To avoid any confusion, it does not say for you to practice what people are doing in the world. In the Bible, it says to not love the world, neither the things that are in the world. It is important to note that glorifying God is the most important thing in life, because going to heaven is the ultimate purpose. That is just not what we should do. As Christians, we should participate and have an impact on this world we are living. Thinking about Christianity, a comparison that may come to mind is the situation of Haitian Diaspora.
If you were to ask any Haitian person in Haiti on a certain day to drop whatever they are doing and give them the chance to come to the United States the following day, more than 90 percent would be okay with that, because their “paradise” is the United States of America. That is one of the reasons Haiti never really developed. Haitian people, just like Christians, do not work to make the place they are living better, but instead they have to leave this place of hell. What about the United States and Christianity?
How is The United States from a century ago different than the one we have today? From a moral standpoint, it has declined completely. The reason? Less Christianity. When America had great Christian values, and the Presidents had no shame to say they are Christians, the country was great. Because we have Americans turning away from God, the country is on the road to hell.
There is a hypocrisy from the Christian people. It is actually a great irony. They claim they are light, and they should illuminate the dark, but you would not see them seeking a leadership place in a political position and try to influence the world in a good way. Don’t you think that if more Christians participate in political stuff or other things, and not focusing only on spiritual thing, the world would be less bad?
As Christians, we should participate in the world’s Events, and with our biblical knowledge, we are going to influence it. As humans, there is a reason God placed us on earth, and it is not to do only spiritual stuff. We are not angels, and God knows it.
